Each year, the Board shall nominate a Slate of Candidates to fill open positions, which arise because of term expiration. To be eligible for nomination, an individual shall have been a member in good standing of APRA for at least one year preceding his/her nomination. Otherwise, nominations shall be administered in accordance with the Manual of Procedures.

2027 Board Vacancies:

• Vice President (3 year term) 
• North Region Representative (2-6 year term)
• Membership Chair (2-6 year term) 

If you would like to nominate a current member for one of the open Board positions, or if you are interested in applying for any available position, fill out the form and submit by August 14, 2026.

Qualifications of Candidates. Candidates for the following positions must meet the minimum qualifications as set forth in the Bylaws:

• All Officers/Directors. Individuals must have served on a committee or board position with APRA, or from any other state’s park and recreation association, within the previous (5) five years. Have been a voting member of APRA in good standing for a minimum of two (2) years prior to nomination; Must be a current voting member; must have been employed for at least five (5) years in a full-time capacity and currently work in a permanent position in the profession immediately prior to nomination. Exception shall be the Young Professional, must have been employed in a full-time capacity for a minimum of (2) two years. All candidates shall be either a resident of or have his/her primary source of employment in Arizona, for the two years prior to nomination.
• Vice President. In addition to the above, must be available to serve for three (3)years on the APRA Board of Directors, one (1) year in each of the following positions: Vice President, President Elect, and President; and must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience either in an elected or chair capacity at the national, state, region, or section, state committee or task force.
• Region Representatives must live in the region they are nominated for on the board.

Elections will be held in the fall for seats requiring a vote, service will begin January 1, 2027.
